I quit [April Fools]

It is true that I wish to be uncontroversial but at the same time I have a great defect, and that is this: I cannot remain silent when I am seeing my country going downhill.

However, the time has come for me to hang up my blogging and media personality mantle and dedicate myself to the job of regulating the media in India full-time, in my role as Press Council of India chairman, lest I become that which I seek to regulate.

In this connection, I may refer to Chapter 2 Shloka 34 of the Geeta where Lord Krishna said to Arjun "For a self respecting man, death is preferable to dishonour."

But I trust that my writings will live on and inspire a new generation of fools to rise and adopt a scientific outlook aided by media and the judiciary.

Yes, this is was an April Fools' Day post, that was not published by Katju (and was not even published on Katju's blog, which, for future reference, does not contain a hyphen).
